The Dee Norton Lowcountry Children’s Center (established, 1989) is a nationally-renowned children’s advocacy center based in Charleston, South Carolina.

The mission is to keep children safe from abuse, and when abuse occurs, to work with our community to bring healing to these children and their families.

The Center seeks a full-time Executive Director who is a proven leader in the field of children’s advocacy, with a national reputation and a passion for protecting the well-being of children. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated history of strong organizational leadership coupled with a minimum of 5 to 7 years of management/supervisory experience. Fundraising experience, a background in child advocacy or child welfare, and prior experience with non-profits are required. A firm understanding of not-for-profit financial issues will be necessary for the success of the candidate in this position. Clinical experience is desired, but not required. The DNLCC has a long history of collaboration with the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) on research and training. This position currently enjoys adjunct faculty privileges with MUSC. Building on the Center’s history, this position presents the opportunity to serve as an industry leader on national, state and local levels.

At a minimum, qualified candidates will possess a Masters Degree in a related field. Compensation and benefits are competitive on a national basis and commensurate with experience.
