Responsibilities

Responsible for radiographic examinations utilizing diagnostic and mammographic sterotactic biopsy imaging equipment. Provides direct patient care to all ages of patients but especially the adult female. Contributes to the efficient operation of the Department and Mammography sections, ensuring the quality and continuity of patient care. Obtains and documents appropriate history from patients. Assists in the clinical training of radiologic technology students and mammographers. Performs all Quality Control testing in compliance with federal and state standards MQSA, ACR Guidelines for the Hospital and satellites. Position requires working at alternate sites.

Full access to contrast media is given to the incumbent of this position because they are required by their job responsibilities to transport, stock, prepare, or administer contrast media as dictated by scope of practice regulations.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of a recognized program in Radiologic Technology. Associates Degree required, Bachelor¿s preferred

Licensure: Current Connecticut Licensure, Advanced Certification in Mammography Certification by AART, Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technology.

Experience: Minimum two years of varied technical skills in diagnostic radiography. Mammography and mammography quality assurance experience preferred.

Skills: Good vision, ability to lift and position patients, ability to be discrete, tactful. Able to maintain effective working relationships, ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Aptitude for statistical reporting and attention to detail.
