Under the supervision of a radiologist, provides patient services using diagnostic ultrasound for the use and interpretation of ultrasound procedures. Assists the radiologist in gathering sonographic data necessary to reach diagnostic decisions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required: Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology and/or sonography.
Must: (1) enter 4,000 keystrokes per hour; (2) possess basic knowledge of PC applications, software, and database management.
Preferred: ARDMS certified with one year of experience in breast sonography
LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND/OR REGISTRATION:
Required: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and/or certification as an Ultrasound Technologist (ARDMS). Must be registry eligible for Registry as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
Preferred: ARDMS certified in breast sonography.
