Alltech is seeking a VDI Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC.
The VDI Engineer will develop a virtual desktop infrastructure for the MS Windows desktop image of workstations, laptops, and tablets in order to support the government's virtualized legal applications.
The VDI Engineer position may also require providing Tier 3 level IT engineering support of the deployed VDI image by serving as a coordinating liaison between the Tier 2 helpdesk and the government to address arising technical problems by VDI-imaged users as well as functioning as the technical liaison between VDI government POCs and both government and project managers to ensure the proper integration of other projects. The VDI engineer position may require monitoring the VDI image deployment and shall provide recommendations on potential image/system enhancements, speed, security, etc.
Demonstrated ability to design, deploy, test, integrate, upgrade, and support virtual desktop infrastructure images in both lab and production environments.
Capability of providing technical engineering practices recommendations, advice, and enhancements from integration engagements of prior successful systems integrations.
Capability of documenting problems and resolutions within the Remedy ticketing system.

MS Windows 7 integration
Legal applications to include iPro, Nexis/Lexis Law
Cisco UCS or HP Pod platforms
EMC SAN storage
Understanding of SMS/SCCM package deployment
Effective writing/verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently with minor guidance.
MS Windows 2003 Terminal Server
Experienced in participating on team projects in an Agile environment.
Active DOD Secret or above security clearance (in order to reduce the time required to obtain a public trust clearance and gain access to the customer site).
