The Whole Life Engineering Directorate (WLED) is made up of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer and end user. We have an exciting opportunity for FRACAS engineer to join our team in Portsmouth, RI.

Job Description:

Candidate will be an integral part of the Whole Life Engineering Directorate team as a Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) engineer, interfacing directly with Raytheon program leaders and customer program staff. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the FRACAS process is executed in a closed loop manner and representing Raytheon at customer meetings. The candidate shall also develop technical solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity, work under consultative directions towards predetermined long term goals and objectives, exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment, and update complex program level concepts and plans and provide support for activation of those plans.

Responsibilities include:

Successfully guide and manages the completion of tasks and associated teams
·
Determine solutions to complex reliability related problems
·
Drive team failure investigations to root cause and implement a corrective action
·
Provide technical direction to cross program participants
·
Failure data collection and analysis
·
Interface with entire program team as needed to support objective to increase operational readiness
·
Conduct periodic Failure Review Board meetings to discuss details of failures
·
Determine root cause and corrective action; facilitate corrective action implementation
·
Participate in proposal activity
This position can be a level E04 or E05 salary grade level based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsiblity requirements for this position
Basic Qualifications Skills:
·
6+ years working in cross functional team environments, utilizing inter-personal skills to achieve technical objectives
·
Six Sigma Specialist Qualified
·
Prior experience in a role with complex problem solving responsibilities
·
Statistical Analysis Skills, preferably Reliability Modeling
·
MS Office Suite (Access, Excel, Word, Power Point)
·
Prior experience in the development of schedule inputs and program metrics
·
Previous experience in the Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) discipline
·
Previous experience applying Reliability principles during either development or sustainment program phases
·
Required Education:
BS in Engineering
D esired Qualifications Skills:
Knowledge of Earned Value Management and IPDS
·
Prior leadership experience
·
Experience in development of technical and cost proposals
·
Experience in preparing customer and/or management level briefings
Strong inter-personal skills
·
Excellent oral and written communication ability
Existing Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one
