Join the Information Technology team in maintaining Whitehat Security Linux servers. Requires solid technical knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Ubuntu operating systems incorporating SAN, ISCSI, NFS in a production SaaS environment.
Experience with Puppet, CFEngine, PXE/Kickstart, and Nagios, brings you to the head of the class!
Responsible to ensure all system standards are upheld as determined by Whitehat Security.
May be called on to assist in the management, installation, configuration, and debugging for related services, such as router and routing configuration, network allocation, and DNS maintenance.
Experience with or knowledge of following technologies:
Securing, managing, and monitoring servers per WhiteHat Security’s best practices
Demonstrated experience in applying patches
Demonstrated experience in shell script writing
Demonstrated experience with VMWare virtualization
Managing support incidents with hardware and software vendors
Troubleshooting complex interoperability and system networking problems
Coordinate technology system purchases and system configuration. Plan growth, purchase and implement software and hardware as required.
Proactively troubleshoot complex problems that may have high impact and wide scope.
Determine remedial actions required to solve those problems.
Provide recommendations and implementation of systems expansion and upgrade under the direction of management to support business growth. Propose solutions for appropriate technologies, prototype these solutions and show these benefits to customers within WhiteHat Security.
Support high level meetings and activities in response to internal service requests, building and configuring related systems, backup and restore procedures, performance and capacity planning.
Provide leadership in initiatives for technology design, engineering, support, and maintenance activities.
3-5+ years of experience with advanced knowledge of Linux/Debian, TCP/IP protocols, DNS and configuring and trouble-shooting infrastructure appliances in a production environment.
A broad conceptual and hands on knowledge of networking protocols and overall communication devices also is vital.
Knowledge of Internet protocols, including HTTP(S), FTP, NNTP, SSL, DNS, DHCP, and SNMP.
Knowledge of production monitoring tools.
Knowledge of enterprise network infrastructure, including WAN, LAN architecture required.
Understanding 24x7 operation requirements and experience in a process oriented working environment.
