POSITION: Assistant Professor of Special Education. This position is a nine-­month appointment. Summer teaching may be available.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The applicant will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in special education. In addition to teaching, duties include advising students in the College of Education; supervising student teachers; serving on departmental, college, and/or university committees; and engaging in scholarly activities. The successful applicant will be expected to participate fully in other activities of the department, college, and university.

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have earned a terminal degree in Special Education or Curriculum and Instruction with graduate level emphasis in teaching special education with training in the area of mild disabilities at multiple age levels. Candidates must have at least three years of classroom experience preferably in two of the following age groups: early childhood, elementary, middle, or secondary levels. Experience teaching at the college level is desirable. In addition, the applicant should have received or show potential for recognition for scholarly publications, grants, and participation in professional organizations and conferences. Candidates who are ABD will be considered, but degree must be completed prior to starting date.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience
