A Second Cook is assigned to a camp by the scheduling staff as needed and is responsible for the preparation of meals in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
Makes 4 to 6 selections of salad for lunch and supper daily

Prepares sandwiches for bag lunches using a variety of fillings and breads

Cuts vegetables, wraps pastries, and has other snack items readily available

Cleans, peels, slices and trims food items using manual and electric appliances

Assists First Cook and/or Chef with meal preparation as directed

Replenishes condiments and other supplies at tables and in dining area

Prepares and serves clients at steam tables, as needed

Rotates groceries using the FIFO method

Assists with inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment

Maintains general cleanliness of kitchen and dining area

Cleans and maintains rig-box inventory

Washes dining room tables, chairs, cupboards, and appliances

Removes trash and disinfects containers

Sweeps and mops floors as needed

Uses dishwasher or 3 sink method to clean dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans

Enforces PTI policies and procedures

Participates in safety meetings

All other duties assigned by the supervisor


2+ years of food service experience, preferably in a remote camp environment

ServSafe Certification

Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills

Excellent customer service skills
