This position will lead and manage a team of project managers that manage a major portion of the bank’s technology and project management organization. Ensure the bank’s key project initiatives are delivered as planned; ensure the bank’s decision-makers have the best information to prioritize initiatives and allocate funding; and ensure the project teams are leveraging industry best practices to achieve the bank’s strategic ovjectives and comply with regulatory requirements.
Principal Accountabilities :
- Manage Project Managers and ultimately drive the initiatives as needed to ensure the bank’s interest is protected and the project objectives are met as planned. Scope will include collective project budgets. Challenges include changing the way we do business, implementing complex (first not only for First Citizens, but also in the industry), technology solutions and replacing mission critical applications. Develop and educate the organization on CPO processes, policies, and tools.
- Hire, manage, and develop professionals to include education and proficiency on shop processes as well as leveraging best practices to achieve optimal results. Maintain metrics on performance for executive review as well as performance management.
- Create strategies and alternative approaches to accomplish project objectives. Actively manage risks through the development of contingency plans and mitigation strategies.
- Continuously learn, embrace, and teach new ways to deliver project results. This knowledge should be gleaned from project management organizations, (PMI), lessons learned, networking with other project managers in the industry and reading publications.
Bachelor Degree with a minimum of 8 years of Project Management, 6 years of personnel management, and 4 years of business experience, (emphasis in business planning; re-engineering; and process design and organizational design).
Must have experience preparing presentations to sell plans and ideas to executive management.
Experience and/or certification in Project Management Methodology.
Experience in a System Development Lifecycle program – (PMI, or SEI, Method I, etc.).
Expertise in technology disciplines (application architecture and system design, network engineering, information architecture, etc.).
Other Preferred Qualifications:
Possess industry certification such as Project Management Institute (PMI) or Six Sigma.
