The Management Trainee Program (MTP) provides recent University/College graduates with a series of rotations through various departments within a G&K business unit. Combining hands on experience with mentor led on-line and classroom training, the MTP Program will prepare the individual for a first line supervisory role in an area which best matches his or her interests, skills and abilities and based upon business needs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Successfully complete Smart Start, classroom and on-line training on a rotational basis for a Route Sales Representative, Territory Sales Representative and Production Lead in conjunction with weekly work meetings and developmental evaluations with the Functional Mentors.
Fulfill the position requirements, achieving all key performance measures, of each rotational position for a period of six (6) to twelve (12) months. Six months will be spent in the Route Sales Department, six months in Production with a strong focus on the Stockroom and twelve months in the Sales Department.
Ability to relocate is preferred.
- Degree/diploma obtained from a post-secondary institution. Business degree preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 1 year previous work experience and/or co-op/internship in customer service or sales role (i.e. retail, restaurant, call center, etc)
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Minimum 1 year previous experience in a leadership role in school or extracurricular activities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; verbal and written. Multi-lingual skills preferred.
