The VAD Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the care of end stage cardiac patients requiring Ventricular Assist Device Support. This role will comply with all regulatory data needs for both patient populations. i.e., MCAD/VAD registry (INTERMACS) and (Donor Net) UNOS. (This position will collaborate with nursing leadership to clinical practice management, outcomes management, education, consultation, and research. Assumes a leadership role with the Multidisciplinary team to define and achieve optimal outcomes for patients implanted with a MCAD
*Arkansas state Registered Nurse license with a specialty in a clinical area and background in cardiovascular physiology.
*Minimum 2 years experience working in critical cardiac/intensive care/operating room with patients with end stage heart.
*In depth knowledge and experience in end stage heart failure and mechanical circulatory assist devices.
*Leadership, communication, negotiating, time management, priority setting, and project management skills.
*Data analysis and database management skills.
*Ability to respond to on-call job responsibilities.
