Our client is looking for an experienced person who will be responsible for managing and growing an
Operations Group that has accountability for Network Support, Change Management, Problem Management, Deployments and Support. This Operations Manager will have responsibility for the 24x7 support of their IT Operations infrastructure that is used to deliver a SaaS hosted suite of applications. Our client is a well-established & recognized global M2M company providing critical remote asset monitoring & tracking solutions to industrial based companies around the world, many of which are Fortune 500.
We are looking for an experienced hands-on manager to provide leadership and vision with an eye to service reliability, optimizing the client experience and supporting the company?s overall strategy and goals. The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of key infrastructure technologies such as:
? LAN and WAN Networking, Desktops
? Disaster Recovery Solutions
To be considered for this exciting role, the candidate will have 3+ years of management or supervisory experience, 7+ years of familiarity with Networking and Infrastructure technology and will have a solid understanding of the Application Life Cycle management with emphasis on Change Management to Deployment.
? Supervise the implementation, maintenance and modifications of new and existing computer and telecom systems for all locations to ensure systems meet informational and operational requirements.
? Manage the different environments and support requirements of the hardware infrastructure for all business critical internal systems in production and development.
? Supervise and monitor the installation, maintenance expansions, deployments and conversions of the network.
? Supervise deployment of major hardware and software upgrades to meet company requirements.
? Assist staff with unusual or complex problems - serve as an escalation point for internal/external escalations including:
o local and remote diagnostics
o trouble shooting technical, software and hardware problems
o network security issues
? Responsible for the licensing of corporate software and systems.
? Supervise the development of systems back-up and disaster procedures and plans reviewing them periodically.
? Analyze and research unused desktop applications to evaluate their usefulness.
? Responsible for the security of company?s computer systems, related communications lines and
? Manage computer services projects including preparation of business cases and project definitions.
? Ensure that proper processes are followed during system implementations (e.g.. fact finding, impact assessments, planning, resource allocation, testing, training, and deployment)
? Responsible for maintaining documentation for computer system moves, adds and changes including:
o Software installations,
o Upgrades and changes,
o Network upgrades,
o Server deployments and upgrades
? Responsible for designing and implementing a business data backup strategy
? Supervising/monitoring 24x7 support for a customer facing data processing System
? Review weekly operations report (outlining systems uptime etc.) and identify trends and Variances
? Ensure adequate staff is available at all times to meet the Computer Service?s needs- identify recruitment needs when necessary.
? Ensure that all employees are fully trained to meet performance expectations. This includes specific training as well as ongoing communication regarding technological changes, procedures, policies and performance objectives.
? Continually assess employees and be directly involved in any disciplinary actions or dismissals.
? Conduct performance evaluation of the direct reports and provide effective suggestions,
constructive criticism and positive feedback on staff performance
? Continuously monitor and evaluate departmental operations in search of methods/tools to
optimize the process.
? Other duties or projects, as assigned.

? Demonstrated understanding of the different type of issues that can arise during a software
implementation and experience in managing resolution of issues.
? Demonstrated understanding of Data Center Production, Cloud Hosting Services, Operations,
Server Storage, Network and Database Management.
? General understanding of all data center functions (change control, DR/Business recovery,
helpdesk, systems management, and facilities).
? Understanding of Agile processes
? Solid understanding of ITIL Change Management
? Understanding of application lifecycle processes
