Color-Box, a Georgia-Pacific company, manufactures high quality, point-of-sale packaging. We currently have openings in the Pelahatchie, MS facility for

MACHINE ASSISTANTS

. Starting rate of pay is $12.29 per hour. Successful candidates must be willing to work any shift, work with variable start times and be able to work nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as necessary.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED SKILLS:
High school diploma or equivalent

At least 18 years of age

Eligible to work in the United States

At least six months of prior manufacturing experience or labor intensive work experience

Ability to work in a fast paced, flow-to-work environment

Willingness to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment

Willingness to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks for extended periods of time (lifting, walking, climbing, pushing, twisting, stooping, etc.)

Ability to lift 50 lbs. routinely and stand for extended periods of time

Willingness to wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (safety glasses, ear plugs, hard hat, 6" top leather steel-toed boots, etc.)

Willingness to consent to (and pass) a pre-employment test, background check and drug screen

Ability to work in a tobacco-free environment

Willingness to sign a confidentiality agreement as a condition of employment

PREFERRED SKILLS

:

Previous mechanical experience such as setting up, running and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment

Previous experience working with straight-line, auto-bottom, folder style, inner cell, and 4/6 corner-style cartons

Previous experience working with fluted cartons (B, E and F)

Previous experience with cold glue and hot melt applications on a variety of substrates (sbs, poly, CCNB, etc.)

Previous experience using glue and copy detection systems

Basic computer skills

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Adhere to all plant environmental guidelines, policies and procedures

Help operate machinery to expected performance levels

Assist crew members and work in a team environment

Help meet or exceed production waste and quality goals

Assist with set-ups, troubleshooting and making minor machine adjustments

Keep work area clean throughout shift
