The Foodservice District Manager will be responsible for all sales volume and profitability as it relates to the San Antonio district.
Directly manages sales personnel, within specific market area(s) to assist in the attainment of regional goals and objectives.
Recruits, trains and further develops sales personnel, as well as analyzes sales performance toward regional volume and profit goals.
A strong understanding of the sales process and cycle within the foodservice channel are important attributes for this position.
The Foodservice District Manager will assist in identifying and developing action plans to accomplish priorities of focus with products, programs and accounts in order to optimize sales personnel efforts.
Recruits on an on-going basis from various sources, i.e., colleges, industry referrals, agencies, etc., ensuring a diversified candidate pool.
Monitors progress of newly hired sales personnel through the (company designated) formalized sales training certification process.
Conducts sales personnel evaluations as needed and during the formalized review process. Sets personnel objectives.
Maintains an accurate record of progress toward goals. Creates development plan for individual career goals.
The Foodservice District Manager will support sales personnel by establishing and maintaining sound business relationships with primary distributor accounts, key chain accounts and key consuming accounts within their marketplace.
Works regularly with sales personnel in field.
Assists in product demonstrations, program/promotional presentations with consuming accounts, as well as participating in distributor sales meetings, food shows and business reviews.
Insures effective communication, written and verbal, of company policies/procedures, competitive environment, as well as internal communication within the Region to include sharing of sales successes and status on attainment of Regional volume goals and objectives.
Provide Region Manager with recommendations to increase profitable volumes in the short and long term.
Insures that sales personnel maintain Sales Management Systems records in a timely manner to establish a complete and accurate database.
Utilizes Sales Management System reports to ensure Regional sales productivity goals are being met.
The Foodservice District Manager will analyze and evaluate progress toward overall District and overall Foodservice District and specific trading areas goals and objectives for volume and profit.
Communicates recommendations to Region Manager as they relate to merit, bonus and personnael evaluations.
Maintains up-to-date records on all sales personnel.
Ensures proper management of customer statements/deductions.
Bachelor’s Degree required
Travel required - 20%
7 years relevant sales experience
Drive for results
Excellent planning, oral, written communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening, background, credential, and MVR check.
