Must be licensed as an Addiction Counselor by the North Dakota Board of Addiction Counseling Examiners and two years experience in a private or public facility with duties similar to those listed for an Addiction Counselor I. A master’s degree may substitute for one year of the experience requirement. If unable to find qualified applicants, we will consider under filling as an Addiction Counselor I with a salary range of $3,187 to $4,249 per month. Addiction Counselor I minimum qualifications require licensure as an Addiction Counselor by the ND Board of Addiction Counseling Examiners. Summary of Work:
To provide effective and holistic counseling services to inmates and their families. The problem foci will include, but may not be limited to, alcohol and other drug abuse, sexual offenses, and other dysfunction or acts of aggression. The position will work as part of the Treatment Department providing addiction treatment and other cognitive behavioral treatments, have a role in the implementation of addiction treatment programs and will provide assistance with supervision of trainees and level I addiction counselors. This position will provide screenings and evaluations, recommend diagnosis and treatment, monitor progress and provide documentation for individual and group counseling services to adult male inmates at the James River Correctional Center.
