Assist with the testing of in-house developed tools on a variety of hardware platforms and operating systems to support the R&D efforts. Analyze test plans and test procedures according to customer conventions for applications under test. Perform unit, integration, system and regression level tests, and evaluate results. Prepare test reports documenting test results according to customer standards. Ensure all artifacts of the testing process are retained for future proof of test. Research, develop, manage, and maintain testing techniques and practices for UNIX and Windows environments to ensure high quality software products. Provide support to external testing or acceptance testing of software. Perform documented white and black box test procedure execution and result validation to ensure high quality software products and reduce the time software is under test. Manage unit integration and system level requirement to tests, including test results to tests. Support of configuration management processes, project management activities, requirements activities, and process improvement activities.
-5+ years of experience with all aspects of testing, including test planning, test design, test execution, and test evaluation
-Experience with structured software development methodologies and industry best testing practices
-Experience with windows operating systems, including 2000, 2003, and XP
-Experience with developing test plans and test scenarios using manual methods or automated testing tools
-Experience with developing and maintaining traceability matrices
-Experience with analyzing software test results
-Experience with documenting test plans and test results using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
-Experience with using configuration management (CM) tool, including Razor or Subversion
-Knowledge of a UNIX and LINUX operating system, including Solaris, AIX, HP and UX, Redhat, or Novel and SuSE Linux
-Ability to set priorities and rearrange schedules to address unexpected issues
-TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required
-Experience with programming or scripting skills, including PERL, BASH, or CSH
-Knowledge of telecommunications technologies
-Knowledge of Subversion CM tool
-BA or BS degree in CS or EE
