ConocoPhillips Alaska, Inc. is recruiting for an instrumentation technician position at our Kuparuk operation on the North Slope of Alaska. Kuparuk is the second largest production field in North America. The position will be remotely based working a 14 day on/14 day off rotation schedule. The successful candidate will work in an apprentice role and develop/demonstrate skills and knowledge to allow for progression to a journeyman instrumentation position within 3years or less.

Responsibilities may include:
The successful candidate must be able to safely perform strenuous physical labor for extended periods of time

Employees are expected to utilize safe work practices in daily job duties and actively participate in all Field Safety Processes

This position requires the ability to work in a team environment with a wide range of Company and contractor hourly and technical/professional personnel

Specific responsibilities may include:
Performance of entry-level instrumentation technician duties in the Kuparuk Field, specifically Drill Sites, and Facility

These duties will include but are not limited to: process control troubleshooting & calibration, repairing electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic instruments, valve repair, and troubleshooting PLC & DCS systems and turbine controls

Other instrumentation tasks include general facility maintenance functions and work outlined on preventative maintenance work orders


Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular, full-time basis

Instrumentation Technology Program Graduate or Engineering Degree

Valid driver’s license

3+ years industry experience

Able to safely perform strenuous physical labor for an extended period of time

Willing and able to work outside in harsh weather conditions

Willing and able to climb ladders/stairs, walk, stand, stoop, sit, and carry material on a daily basis

Effective computing skills

Ability to deliver Zero Incident HSE Results

Demonstrate active leadership/participation/engagement in achieving a Zero Incident Culture

Strong written and oral communication skills

Instrumentation technician candidates should have a facility process background

Experience working with oil and gas industrial equipment

Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)

Experience with computerized document retrieval and/or materials management systems

A demonstrated track record of achievement, teamwork, technical growth, and increasing responsibilities
