Implements a strategic communications and marketing program for the IUB libraries. Heightens awareness, perception, and support of IU libraries by developing and managing communications through publications and news media. Provides communications counsel to leadership of the IU libraries to advance institutional priorities among diverse and numerous audiences including faculty and students, donors, the IU community, and the community at large. Assists in managing existing relationships with external constituencies such as local and trade media, donors, and professional organizations.

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing/public relations, communications, or related field and five years of experience in strategic marketing, communications, publicity, media relations, or related field in education, not-for-profit, or corporate sectors.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; professional achievement in print and online communications; and strong speech-writing and presentation skills. Some knowledge of design layout and design principles; knowledge of trends in social media, online publications, and web interface; and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities within deadline and budget expectations. Proficiency with computer-based applications.
Preferred: Master’s degree, graduate coursework, or educational equivalent. Strong background in writing.
