is needed in our Wichita office to provide Natural Resource services for biological and ecological site assessments, wetlands delineation and mitigation, T & E studies, stream and pond rehabilitation, erosion and sediment control, stormwater plans, permitting. General Responsibilities:
As a fully competent Scientist with Terracon you will apply diversified principles and practices in broad areas of assignments. Makes independent decisions on scientific problems and methods. May devise new approaches to problems encountered. Assignments may involve application of computer software, including spreadsheets, CAD, as well as computer modeling. In some cases, directs the ongoing technical policies/procedures for carrying out daily responsibilities of work assignments on clients' projects.

Reports To: Department Manager or Office Manager

Essential Functions and Duties:
Assists in establishing and updating current policies/procedures for all technical projects in field of expertise for the company, to ensure proper interpretation and implementation by subordinate staff.

Provides technical direction/training to all less experienced professional staff to enhance individual capabilities for advancement and promotion along career paths.

Performs other office, laboratory, and/or field consulting assignments as necessary to accomplish work for client.

Assists in technical training and makes informed decisions based upon state of the art technology issues.

Participates in the development of marketing strategies and presentations of qualifications to clients on projects.

In accordance with company procedures, approves or prepares reports for relatively complex projects, making appropriate recommendations as necessary on relatively small or large projects.

Acts as senior consultant on projects requiring complex and innovative investigation techniques and supervises the analyses and formulation of recommendations in written report format to clients; provides technical review of reports.

Overnight travel may be required with this position.

Education/Experience:
Masters Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Archeology, Natural Resources, Earth or Forest Science, Anthropology, Ecology, Zoology or related Science with at least 6 years of demonstrated consulting experience in field of expertise, or

License/Registration:
Valid driver's license

Certification as recognized in field of expertise is required.
