We currently have a supplemental opportunity in the Analytics, Algorithms and Architecture group at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center.
We focus on tackling exciting research problems at the intersection of machine learning, data mining, statistics and real-time analytics. We are looking to fill this position with a candidate who has the appropriate coursework and background in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics or Econometrics for a project on anomaly detection in real-time analytics.
We are looking for someone who is passionate and driven, has excellent skills to understand complex mathematics and data analysis, with some statistics and/or machine learning expertise. An important requirement is excellent programming skills in Java with possible experience in databases, web programming and visualization. The candidate should be driven and focused on creating tangible value towards the project goals. These tangible results could include appropriate software development, client data analysis, project presentation and workshop and conference papers, patents, and contributions to IBM products.
Our projects cover the understanding, tracking, and identification of anomalous behavior in online analytics, using potentially massive amounts of data, using machine learning and multivariate statistics. These techniques are being applied to use cases in health care billing, insurance, and finance domains.
Some of our group's accomplishments include advances in state of the art for business processes, retail analytics, fraud analytics, and machine learning for massive data sets. These accomplishments are reflected in several IBM products and solutions including IBM Signature Solutions for Fraud and Abuse, and the IBM Big Insights platform.
