We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Helpdesk Technician who consistently seeks personal challenges and professional rewards. The Helpdesk Technican will provide a total customer support service as a single point of contact for all issues relating to IS services for our internal customers. You will have key responsibility for recording incidents and providing support to the users. You will answer questions or resolve computer problems for employees in person, via telephone or from a remote location. As a vital member of AGU’s information services team, you will provide customer focused end-user technical support for office automation software, predominately the Microsoft Office Suite for about 100 onsite and remote employees. Utilizing a helpdesk trouble ticketing software, you will input, track trouble tickets and communicate with customers and technical staff potential solutions. You will also utilize automated software tools such as Windows Deployment Services to configure workstations and laptops. You will troubleshoot VOIP problems and offer solutions. You will work with onsite engineers to perform a wide variety of network related tasks. You will provide support for Office 2010 suite of applications. You will provide support for Outlook 2010 email applications and other email applications like Thunderbird. You will participate in special projects as required. The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of experience in an IT helpdesk environment. You will be an expert in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. MS Certifications preferred. Experience with CS4, 5, 6, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Pro; Illustrator experience preferred. Experience with LaTex, UltraEdit, and MathType strongly preferred. SharePoint experience preferred. MAC support experience preferred. Experience developing and adhering to standard operating procedures (SOP’s). Strong customer service and/or ITIL background preferred. Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned. Possess limited experience supporting open source CMS systems such as WordPress, Drupal and/or Joomla. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to have basic understanding of Sharepoint support. Ability to lift up to 60lbs for short period of time. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Ability to effectively communicate and interface with internal customers through verbal and written means. Ability to work independently or as part of a team, comfortably switching between assignments as needed. Ability to deliver high quality work with little supervision. Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours if/when required to support ad hoc maintenance/upgrade/implementation efforts.
