PDI has an immediate opportunity for several full-time Warehouse Generalists. The following partial job description explains this full-time position. The full-time work schedule is listed below.
The essential functions of this position are:
Must be able to maintain the physical requirements of the job requiring lifting from 0-85 pounds.
Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
Adheres to company policies and departmental guidelines.
Operates powered industrial equipment, demonstrating caution and complies with safety rules and regulations in all aspects of the daily job requirements.
Utilizes RF Unit for product stock rotation according to expiration date and replenishment of empty slots.
Operates forklift and pallet jack in loading of staged product. Utilizes RF Unit for loading of outbound product with possible consolidation of pallets to ensure proper fit.
Utilizes RF Unit to receive incoming product requiring unloading truck, breaking down of pallets, tags with slot code, and delivers product to appropriate destination. Verifies product received with supplier invoice for accuracy and completes proper receiving paperwork. Unloads pallets and/or empties carts and puts in proper storage locations.
Selects product for shipment utilizing a voice activated unit (VAU) to direct to pick slot. Validates selection by speaking check digit into headset of the VAU matching description and quantity. Accurately and efficiently builds pallet by stacking product to ensure product integrity and transport stability. Stretch wraps product on pallet and places batch label on front of stretch wrap.
Must maintain expected levels of performance in productivity and quality according to standards program.
Observes sanitation in the handling of product and reports spillage or distressed product to a supervisor. Performs general housekeeping duties as required.
Receives short trips through Vocollect system and utilizes RF Unit to fill the slot and to complete short trip.
Skills and abilities required to perform job:
Experience in safe operation of industrial forklift and pallet jack
Ability to read and speak English.
General knowledge of standard warehousing procedures and training in RF loading, receiving, stock rotation, and stock replenishment preferred.
This position is considered a semi-skilled position. This is considered medium to heavy lifting in nature according to the Department of Labor Weight Classifications. Frequent to constant standing, lifting, handling, stooping, walking, carrying, pulling, climbing, hearing, speaking, kneeling, seeing, pushing, bending, and reaching. Frequent to constant reading and matching accurately and quickly, motor coordination, and manual dexterity.
Note: For the safety of the Warehouse Generalist and his/her co-workers, the Warehouse Generalist must be able to hear equipment, co-workers, and warning signals (i.e. horn or warning shout). Hearing must be satisfactory in both ears due to the requirement of wearing a headset covering one ear and listening for environmental sounds with the other ear.
Refrigerated, freezer and dry warehouse environmental working conditions.
Temperatures ranging from 40° to -20°. Ambient outside temperatures in the dry warehouse. Must adhere to work schedule working weekdays, nights, or weekends.
Busy, noisy warehouse environment.
Minimum education and experience required to perform job:
High school eduation or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of 1-year previous warehouse experience preferred.
Ability to perform at 100% of engineered standard.
Monday - Friday: 9:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m. (Premium pay of $1.00 per hour for 3rd shift)
A physical, drug screen, lifting and hearing test are required.
