E Source is a research and advisory firm, committed to advancing the efficient and environmentally sound use and provision of energy. We are looking for an IT Administrator to join our family of 80 employees in our office located in Boulder, Colorado. This is a full-time position that is responsible for administration of internal IT systems and provides desktop and application support to internal users. This position works as part of the Business Technology team to implement new systems, refine existing ones, and provide excellent service to internal customers.

Position Details: 40 hours per week within our standard business hours (M-F, 9am - 5pm). Seven sick days, three weeks of vacation, and two floating holidays are awarded per year. Plus we have very generous health benefits (Two of our medical plan options are completely free to the employee and dependents. )

Responsibilities/Duties Primary administration responsibility for:
  • Helpdesk system (SpiceWorks)
  • Backups systems (CrashPlanPro)
  • Antivirus systems
  • VOIP phone system (Shoretel)
  • Software inventory and deployment systems (PDQ)
  • Workstation preparation, imaging, and deployment (WDS)
  • Wireless network
  • New hire orientation on relevant systems
  • Processing workstations and data for outgoing employees
  • Periodic internal training on technology systems
  • Documentation of processes, technology, and changes on intranet site

Basic administration responsibility for:
  • Hyper-v
  • vSphere
  • GoogleApps
  • Active Directory
  • Group Policy
  • Printers
  • CentOS based sandboxes
  • Other IT systems as assigned
  • Hardware and supply provisioning
  • Maintain a limited parts inventory (i.e. keyboards, mice, monitors, tapes, etc)

Field phone calls, emails, and helpdesk tickets to address questions and provide support for the following areas:
  • Network access
  • Printer access and general support
  • Google Apps support and administration
  • PC Hardware problem troubleshooting
  • Computer vendor escalation for warranty repair
  • Mac/OSX hardware & software support
  • Application usage assistance and error troubleshooting
  • Coordinate troubleshooting of complex issues
  • Trouble Ticket Management (hand-off, aging, escalation)
  • Special purchase requests.
  • Support cloud-based backup software
  • Support VOIP phone system and handsets
  • Support audio/visual equipment (i.e. projectors, speakers, microphones)
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Requirements This position requires the possession of
  • Availability: M-F 9am - 5pm. Flex-time is possible with manager approval
  • Experience in a helpdesk/end user support environment
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010 products
  • Ability to apply initiative in finding solutions to problems
  • Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal/customer services skills
  • Motivated and self-directed
  • Keen attention to detail

This position will work under the supervision of the BT Manager. The ability to take direction is essential; however the ability to work independently is also required. This position will consist of roughly half project work and half helpdesk work. The successful candidate will

Education/Experience
  • 2 years of experience in related position
  • Previous experience with remote support tools (VNC, RDP, MSRA) a plus
  • Related education and certifications a plus
