We currently have a Laboratory Manager position available at our facility in Elkton Virginia. The Stonewall Plant is located in the Shenandoah Valley along the Shenandoah River and the Blue Ridge Mountains. The facility is just a short distance from major state universities: University of Virginia and James Madison University. The Stonewall Plant in Elkton Virginia is extremely diverse and offers pharmaceutical and API manufacturing opportunities in the following areas: Organic Synthesis Fermentation Bulk Sterile Antibiotic Bulk Vaccine Therapeutic Proteins and Pharmaceutical Formulation in both sterile and solid dosage forms.
We are currently seeking a proven leader to join the Quality Operations Department to contribute to ongoing improvements of the Quality Operations Center of Excellence and the Stonewall Site as a major manufacturer and supplier of pharmaceutical products and vaccines.
The successful candidate will report to the Director of Quality Operations and will have direct responsibility for all QC Laboratory functions at the Stonewall facility including incoming in process and final product testing as well as utility system testing and Environmental Monitoring Programs. The successful candidate will provide strong leadership and development for a staff of approximately 70 professionals in multiple separate laboratories with budgetary control of approximately $10MM annually. Additionally the successful candidate will collaborate with multiple separate Integrated Production Teams and provide support in the area of methods transfers data interpretation and compliance guidance for the respective processing areas. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in leadership team meetings and industry forums and should have the expertise to provide knowledgeable input.Bachelors degree required. Masters a plus. Concentrations in microbiology-strongly desired. (Strong Microbiology and Analytical skills are required.)
Minimum of 5 years demonstrated expertise in laboratory management supporting Aseptic Processing Biologics or Vaccine Manufacturing management experience is required. Cross functional experience in manufacturing and/or a technical role is strongly desired.
