Purpose This position is to complete clinical assessments and perform utilization review tasks for our acute care psychiatric hospital.
Ensure that all children receive a comprehensive and accurate assessment which guides the treatment planning.
Ensure the proper precertifications are completed with the childs insurance provider upon admission.
Ensure the medical staff members receive comprehensive and thorough information to make a determination regarding admission.
Work with intake staff to complete accurate intake documents at time of admission and enter data into the electronic medical record system.
Ensure clinical leadership; gathering observations and insight of others, and providing a framework for understanding the treatment approach. Professional courage is demonstrated when needed.
Ensure daily utilization review spreadsheet is compiled and distributed to appropriate treatment teams.
Support and ensure all work is based on the seven sanctuary commitments; nonviolence (including verbal violence), emotional intelligence, social learning, shared governance, open communication, social responsibility, growth and change.
All children and families receive treatment that meets or exceeds accreditation, state and other select standards and regulations. The services provided will also reflect professional standards and best practices for the client population.
Per organization guidelines documentation meets/exceeds expected timelines, is accurate, and is adequately descriptive of the service provided and the child or families response.
Computer literate, Proficient use of Microsoft office applications.
Ability to read, audit and write reports.
Electronic medical record software.
Must demonstrate full clinical competencies in all elements required of this position.

The employee must be able to assist in a team to protect the client/staff/peers/visitor from harm by escorting, moving or holding clients using techniques taught at this facility. The employee must be able to move quickly and effectively when involved in a team restraint, this requires flexibility and mobility while in various positions i.e. on the floor, on knees, moving from kneeling to standing etc.

Education Level: Masters degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field from an accredited college or university
Valid Masters level behavior health license to practice in the State of Kansas.

Years of Experience: 1 to 3 years
In addition to the above requirements, incumbent must:
Complete Sanctuary training in a timely manner;
Have a valid drivers license and proof of current vehicle insurance;
Follow all agency policies;
Be able to pass State Abuse, Neglect and criminal background checks;
Be able to carry out the essential functions of the position with, or without, accommodation.
