The Lead Planner demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in both long-term and short-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
The Lead Planner develops practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals. In this role you will be responsible for work that is less defined in scope, utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals. In addition, you will:
Ensure that the project plan is documented and approved by functions and the project or proposal team this includes: the integration of scope, schedule, cost and resources
Have full accountability for Cost or Schedule Management activities for assigned project(s)
Define work packages & identify work package ownership
Ensure the plan is maintained as current by incorporating all internal and external scope changes; facilitate the tracking, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting of project deliverable progress against the plan
Develop and maintain a robust operating rhythm for internal and external reporting which shall include key metrics, tracking systemic improvement, and identifying areas of opportunity
Implement “early warning” identification of potential issues and drive corrective action
Coordinate with and synergize execution with various project stakeholders to reduce schedule risk
Coordinate with other GE functions to identify improvement areas and implement solutions to meet internal customer needs
Lead the GE-Partner-Customer schedule integration on projects executed via a partner or customer construction strategy, beginning with project release through project completion
Work with project and non-project functions to understand their needs and develop plans that optimize solutions across the business
Develop and drive strategies for organizational and functional improvement in order to achieve business goals and develop employees
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 3 years of experience of project work
Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Experience in using standard scheduling tools, such as Primavera, MS Project, OpenPlan, P6 Analytics, BI Publisher
Master’s degree in a technical field, Business, or other advanced degree
Planning and/or Logistics experience
Demonstrate methodologies for planning and moving over dimensional cargo by land, air, sea
GE Leadership Development program (PMDP, PMLP, OMLP, JOLP, RELP or equivalent)
Demonstrated Leadership in a matrix environment
Diligent, dedicated and detail oriented
Experience with systems implementation
Experience with Energy industry
Project Management Experience
Experience working in or with a multi-functional organization
Microsoft suite proficiency
Six Sigma training (GE employees only)
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leaderships skills
