SIG is seeking an experienced Database/ETL Developer to join one of our technology teams responsible for acquiring and distributing data to/from our internal and external consumers. By joining this team, you will be exposed to cutting-edge, distributed database environments that support critical business activities such as Institutional Brokerage Trading & Operations, Electronic / Strategic Options Trading, Fixed Income Trading and firm-wide Compliance & Operations with high throughput OLTP systems.

In this role, you will participate in all phases of software development and will be
responsible for administering ETL infrastructure as well as designing and developing
ETL solutions for Batch and continuous (near real-time) data movements using tools and custom scripting methodologies.

Essential Functions
Design, develop and provide consultation for batch and continuous (near-real time) data integration solutions

Administer, monitor and support data processing infrastructure (Informatica environments, ETL processes, scripts and utilities)

Interface with Database Administrators, Data Architects and Data Analysts in
implementing appropriate data processing and ETL process performance tuning needs

Manage ETL defects, enhancement and new functionality requests to meet changes in systems and business needs

Identify and resolve problems with data processing infrastructure, processes,
systems and tools and recommend solutions for improvement and

Assist with Informatica Software Installation, upgrade, patching, backup and recovery

Assist the team in acquiring and distributing data from and to external data partners using standardized data acquisition techniques

Assist the team in enhancing and maintaining the file transfer product and processes

Assist in designing, creating and testing prototypes while implementing new features

Provide production support for Data Acquisition and Distribution processes, systems and tools, as required

Required/Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline is required. Experience may substitute for education.

A minimum of five years of experience administering ETL tool infrastructure and designing and developing ETL processes using tools and/or conventional scripting

A minimum of five years of hands-on administration, monitoring and
development experience with Informatica Power Center & Power Exchange (8.x and above) in Unix/Linux environments

A minimum of two years of hands-on development experience with one or more of the following database technologies: Oracle, SQL Server or MySQL

Thorough understanding of relational databases, logical and physical modeling concepts and performance tuning methodologies

Thorough understanding of batch and continuous (near-real time) ETL processing methodologies

Experience with Power Exchange administration & monitoring required

Experience with PL/SQL and/or T-SQL, shell scripting & Perl programming required

Exposure to multiple file formats, file transfer protocols and diverse data processing environments in a fast-paced business environment

Experience handling, processing and managing large data sets

Ability to co-develop and reuse similar capabilities for data processing including data acquisition, extraction, conversion and transformation processes

Willingness and ability to work in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle

Ability to multi-task, work well independently and in a team within a fast-paced environment

Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting and communication skills
