Qualified candidates must meet the following minimum criteria. Possess a bachelor's degree (Master's preferred), or meet institution's academic qualifications and other requirements for instructor positions. Possess thorough knowledge of Army. Be or have been a commissioned officer. Have knowledge and experience of military training and field training evaluation. Possess skills gained form successful platoon or company command or equivalent. Current military experience (within 5 years of initial hiring.) At least 6 years TIS for permanent position. At least 4 years (6 years preferred) TIS for temporary position. Honorable discharge or retired. Discharge cannot be result of show cause board. Computer literate. Able to teach effectively. Demonstrated instructor ability in field training exercises, and able to live/instruct in field environment for extended periods. Meet Army Ht/Wt standards IAW AR 600-9. Pass the Army APFT within 90 days of hiring date and twice yearly in accordance with cadre scheduled testing. Pass random and periodic drug screening tests.
Instruct cadets IAW CC Program of Instruction (POI), syllabi and other ROTC-directed or emerging training. Instruct warrior tasks and drills, physical fitness training and small unit tactics. Coach, teach and prepare competitive cadet teams, e.g., Ranger Challenge, Drill Team, Color Guard. Instruct, coach and prepare cadets officer/NCO relationships at platoon level and higher in garrison and combat environments. Instruct, coach and prepare cadets on receiving and executing written and verbal plans and concepts. Instruct, coach and prepare cadets on crisis/contingency management.
Meet academic institution's qualifications for providing instruction to cadets enrolled in Military Science courses. On date of hire, complete the following government-provided, on-line courses:
- Information Assurance Awareness
- Portable Electronic Devices and Removable Storage Media
- Phishing Awareness
- Safe Home Computing
- Personally Identifiable Information
Use visual aids and innovation to teach learning and lesson objectives. Ensure cadets are properly tested in class and apply theory in practice during training and assessment events. Teach and prepare the Leadership Development Program. Lead, assist and coordinate training in military skills and squad and platoon levels and safety. Develop OPORDs with annexes and synchronization matrices as required in support of all training. Develop accurate and complete Composite Risk Management Plans (RMPs). Lead, assist and coordinate training for students and cadets in CPFT and CPDT. Assist in the establishment of cadet OML. Administer AFAST to students/cadets IAW regulations. Develop a draft OML for each place of performance of students and cadets. Prepare and conduct AARs 10 days after each event, exercise or activity. Plan, prepare, coordinate and track student/cadet training requirements. Teach and train students and cadets on BOLC-A tasks. Plan, prepare, execute and assess physical fitness training IAW TC 3-22-20. Provide written feedback to students/cadets at the end of each semester and individually as required. Prepare and effectively teach Military Science instruction. Encourage qualified prospects and contracted students to stay in ROTC and seek commission. Assist in Marketing and Recruiting mission requirements. Operate government-provided vehicles and transport cadets and students in conjunction with training exercises and other ROTC events. Must possess a valid vehicle operator's license and complete "Accident Avoidance" training. Plan, prepare, coordinate and execute projects. Complete Cadet Command Instructor Qualification Checklist within 90 days following hire date. Complete SOCC Instructor Training Course (ITC) within 6 months following hire date. Provide guest instruction at SOCC courses as required. Obtain government-provided certification to operate ranges and assist in range operations. When required, obtain HAZMAT certification at contractor expense to transport hazardous materials and Class V supplies. Obtain government-provided CLS certification. Obtain government-provided rappelling instructor certification. Obtain government-provided Military History Instructor Course certification. Travel to and participate in marketing events as required in support of the REAP. If conducting ROO duties, perform the following recruiting and marketing services:
- Tasks necessary to implement the REAP.
- Conduct semi-annual AAR for REAP.
- Research, find and develop contracting leads.
- Set up and conduct interviews and meeting with leads, prospects and influencers.
- Brief students on SMP.
- Develop and contact leads for LTC prospects.
- Identify, contact and track scholarship winners.
- Provide guest instruction at SOCC ROO Course.
- Provide ROTC and Reserve Component information cadre, cadets, students, leads, prospects and influencers.
