The Systems Engineer is responsible for design, configuration and implementation of all IT hardware and software in a data center environment requiring 24 X 7 uptime to support our SaaS product offering. The role also includes responding to escalated customer cases that require technical troubleshooting in our SaaS environment.
Configures implements and provides tier 3 support for incident resolution and service request processes for technical problems and IT issues involving applications and the hardware these applications run on.
Activates hardware and software packages into the production enterprise computing environment.
Builds, configures and tests production level computing systems and installs incremental changes, patches and upgrades to all enterprise computing systems
Works on routine designs for single systems.
Troubleshoots components of systems relying on proven techniques for IT systems analysis and evaluation.
Functions as on-call or backup for other staff members to provide Level 2 or 3 support
Serves as technical leadership for projects with limited scope and complexity.
Working knowledge of current trends and techniques for their technical track, including:
o Installation and configuration techniques
o Standard protocols
o Design implications
Knowledge of the following technologies:
o Windows 2003/2008
o Active Directory/GPO’s
o VMware ESX/ESXi
o HP Servers
Knowledge of the following technologies is a plus:
o Oracle and SuSE Linux
o HP C7000 Enclosures
o F5 LTM/GTM
