Herrington on the Bay Catering is located at the Herrington Harbour
South Marina Resort overlooking the Chesapeake Bay. From Weddings
to Family Reunions, our Waterfront Lawns, Paradise Ballroom and
Historic Yacht Club are equipped to accommodate intimate gatherings to
large celebrations.

Herrington on the Bay Catering is now hiring for a Sous Chef. The
position will be responsible for the operation of all kitchen related
activities on a daily basis in accordance with the company's mission
statement and active vision statement in the absence of the Executive
Chef. HOTB is dedicated to pursuing excellence in the catering and
event designing industry while generating a profit with aggressively
conservative food and labor costs. Value and quality go hand in hand,
thus requiring a skilled individual with exquisite culinary skills and an
understanding of clients’ current tastes and needs. This is a great

The ideal candidate for this position has the following qualities:
Can-do attitude and a coaching mentality
Can wear “many hats” and will be comfortable working in a hands-on
operation
Quick-thinker and problem solver, able to take initiative to complete
tasks in timely manner
Appreciation of organic and sustainable cuisine as well as market
demands
Ability to manage or perform kitchen repairs and maintenance and
knowledge thereto
Charismatic, positive, professional leader who is capable of earning the
respect of
existing management team, staff, clients, and vendors.
5+ years experience in culinary setting.
Passion for quality food and excellent personal service.
Desire professional and financial success through self-directed efforts
that highlight integrity, strong work ethic and sense of pride.
Understands weekends/holiday nature of special events operation

Some responsibilities include:
Creative involvement in product development and implementation
Supervision of food purchase requirements and portion control
Monitoring and maintaining great relationships with employees
Maintenance of food and labor cost goals
