Summary: The Material Damage Appraiser will be responsible for inspecting damaged vehicles, preparing estimates, indentifying total loss vehicles and providing updates to Adjuster regarding vehicle inspections. Key Responsiblities: Inspect physical damage of automobiles and prepare written estimates regarding auto damages Identify total loss damages and summarize appraisal according to company guidelines Determine cost of repairs and type of parts needed for repairs Provide timely response to Adjuster regarding vehicle inspections and repairs Re-inspect vehicles before, during and after repairs from body shop to identify non-covered damages Notify claimant or insured of unrelated damages, applicable depreciations, deductibles and other claim adjustments Prepare monthly reports summarizing appraisals and inspection visits Respond to customer inquiries regarding vehicle inspections and resolve customer complaints to ensure customer satisfaction Maintain expense reports related to conducting appraisals Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Job Requirements: High School diploma/equivalent required, Bachelors degree a plus Minimum 2 years experience as an Auto Damage Appraiser; Alternately may consider candidates with strong experience as an Auto Body Technician ICAR or ASE certifications preferred Experience with Mitchell estimating software preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail Strong leadership, team building and customer relationship skills Advanced mathematical, problem solving and decision making skills Superior PC skills Must be willing to traveling 90% and work varied/irregular hours (i.e. evenings)
