POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Complementary Therapies Manager provides complementary therapy, including art therapy services, consultation, and education to patients, staff, and the community. Supports, promotes, and enhances the healing environment and a mind-body-spirit approach to health and wellness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Effectively deliver complementary and art therapy services, consultation, and education to patients individually and in groups.
Effectively manage client/patient case load.
Document patient care in the electronic medical record as well as complete all other departmental record keeping and paperwork pertaining to job function.
Participate as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
Remain current on best practices, industry standards, and innovation related to scope of practice.
Willingness and capacity to learn and implement additional complementary therapy modalities.
Assist in orientation, supervision, and development of new Complementary Therapies staff, interns, and volunteers.
Participates in events, trainings, and workshops that increase awareness, provide education, and enhance support to the community and providers in the area of integrative health and wellness.
Design and facilitate therapeutic art making projects that become permanent installations at various medical center locations.
Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Creative Arts Therapy preferred; related Master's degree and experience may apply.
Experience providing art therapy to diverse patient population in an inpatient / hospital setting preferred.
Two years experience providing clinical staff supervision preferred.
Licensed Mental Health Counselor; Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist preferred, Associate may be considered -and-
Registered Art Therapist (ATR) or Registered Art Therapist - Board Certified (ATR-BC) preferred - and-
BLS certification required.
SPECIALIZED TRAINING REQUIRED:
Broad skill set including, but not limited to bereavement counseling, brief treatment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, expressive journaling, guided imagery, motivational interviewing, relaxation techniques, solution focused therapy, therapeutic art making, and wellness coaching.
Weekend and/or Holiday Rotation may be required.
