Post by Jobing - Position SummaryThe University of New Mexico has established branch colleges to serve the citizens of New Mexico and to provide the highest quality of education for students pursuing post secondary education at different locations throughout the state. Branch colleges respond specifically to the unique needs and multicultural backgrounds of their respective communities by offering both career and community education programs, these include certificate and associate degree programs, as well as transfer programs that prepare students for upper division entry into colleges and universities. The Manager of Child Care/Operations is responsible to the state licensing facility to ensure proper licensing requirements have been met, work to achieve high star ratings, and fulfill CYFD regulations. The manager hires and oversees staff workers including work study students, sets up work schedules and ensures state mandatory training is provided for all employees.

The manager interacts with parents and young children and to create a safe and nurturing environment for children from toddlers through 3rd grade. The manager maintains a positive working relationship between the child care facility and the early child education department, acknowledging that ECME students have access to the childcare for academic purposes. Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Preferred QualificationsMasters degree in early childhood education Three or more years working as the director or manager of a childcare facility Demonstrated knowledge of state star levels Demonstrated understanding of ECERS (Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale) or ICERS (Infant Care Environmental Rating Scale) Experience managing employees in supervisory role
