Mechanical hardware engineering position for the development and product support of enterprise focused laser single function and multifunction printers.
Responsibilities include current product engineering support for released products partnering with overseas companies on resolving problems that may arise. Additional responsibilities include partnering with R&D teams and assisting in the design, testing and verification of future products using knowledge of current product issues.
Perform technical analysis of assigned electro-mechanical assemblies using proper design of experiments and statistical methods. Effectively communicate issues with the printer vendor OEM and successfully negotiate appropriate countermeasure resolutions.
Focus areas include: paper handling, color print quality evaluation, and electro-mechanical system quality and reliability verification.
Multiple international trips per year are typically required.

This position is part of our university hire program and candidates must have completed their degree within the past 12 months.
BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
Strong analytical problem solving skills.

Experience with root cause failure analysis (measurements and diagnostics) associated with color image processing, materials properties, print process control parameters, and mechanical architecture design elements.
Experience with electro-photography and color science issues as it applies to color laser printer development.
Programming experience in data collection, analysis, and plotting.
Proficient in CAD/CAM tools, preferably Solid Designer or ProE.
