Job Description

The position will partner with and support the VP, Global System Communications, to deliver on the global connectivity future-back vision to inspire and engage Yum! and division system audiences and brand ambassadors to drive breakthrough growth and Build the Defining Global Company that Feeds the World (Yum! Brands Inc. global vision). As a leader in the Public Affairs team, this role will also support system/internal communications as part of integrated planning and communications execution on our reputational and brand-building priorities.

System Communications functional leadership support

  • Partner on building system capabilities for connectivity, communications and collaboration among divisions and markets
  • Act as a change agent for the global connectivity vision
  • Support internal/system communications as part of integrated planning and communications execution on Public Affairs reputational and brand-building priorities
Communications planning and execution

  • Advise on, create, execute and measure strategic communications plans for key global or functional initiatives
  • Write and edit messaging based on system stakeholder segmentation, needs and interests
  • Shape and articulate the agenda and priorities for key events and meetings
  • Orchestrate or oversee system-wide communications distribution or event management
  • Identify and ensure communication process improvements for Global System Communications and Public Affairs
  • Build people capability among colleagues and internal clients on writing and strategic communications
Executive communications

  • Shape and sustain the communications strategy, cadence and calendar for Yum! executives
  • Provide senior-level writing and editing support for Yum! LT, L12 leaders or other internal clients as needed
  • Develop storyboard and content for executive PowerPoint presentations, videos and webcasts
  • Collaborate with executives and internal partners and stakeholders on communications development
Global connectivity and channel effectiveness

  • Oversee and ensure the health, efficacy, content relevance and technology/digital enablement of system channels, including employee portals
  • Oversee and deliver editorial approach to the Yum! News Network with a focus on ensuring content relevance and audience engagement
  • Establish a Yum! voice, style and standards for global system communications, for example, the Yum! News Network
  • Help establish, align and engage an active network of internal communicators throughout the system to deliver on the global connectivity vision
Global and US HR Communications

  • Set and drive communications strategy and execution for global and US HR programs or initiatives, for example, Total Rewards (compensation and benefits), Global Learning/Yum University, People Development, Talent Management, etc.
  • Optimize HR Online and other technologies/processes to improve the efficacy of HR communications
Minimum Requirements
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in corporate communications, marketing, or change leadership
  • Depth and experience in HR, employee engagement and culture communications
  • Role-model interpersonal skills; comfortable working with a diverse, global audience regardless of level
  • Strong experience in counseling and change leadership
  • Ability to influence and lead peers, leaders, individuals and teams
  • Strong senior-level writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Expert organizational and project management skills
  • Strong coaching and people-growing skills
  • Experience or aptitude for working successfully in a global company across multiple time zones
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or lead others to make progress on a complex projects
  • Ability to translate business strategies into communications deployed across a global system Aptitude, ability and avid learning mindset for emerging technologies enabling step-change communications, collaboration and connectivity
