Support and maintain databases and database servers, including back ups, restoration, optimization of performance, monitoring, trouble shooting, and security.
Implement and control changes to databases to ensure adherence to standards, optimal performance, and continuous service.
Specify, install, upgrade, and configure database servers.
Implement or assist Software Development Team with database design, Structured Query Language (SQL), stored procedures, tables, views, triggers, jobs, and database related software.
Ensure database issues and concerns are addressed efficiently to ensure all operational systems function properly through an understanding of NCO and Client business need.
Troubleshoot malfunctions on databases. Isolate, diagnose, and resolve database problems or escalate issue to Information Technology Team or to vendor for resolution.
Test and implement schematic changes from Quality Assurance Team to production and monitor and measure performance and processing impact.
Document processes of all newly implemented databases and database servers.
Knowledge, understanding, and compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations relating to job duties.
Knowledge, understanding, and compliance with NCO policies and procedures.
Provide feedback to management concerning possible problems or areas of improvement.
Make recommendations to implement improved processes.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in relevant work experience.
1 year of related experience with database programming and analysis required. 3-5 years as a SQL (Structured Query Language) Database Administrator preferred.
Experience with Microsoft SQL (Structured Query Language) Server 2000, SQL Server 2005, and Server 7.0 including server clustering and database mirroring.
Knowledge of monitoring and tuning in SQL Server 2000, SQL Server 2005.
Experience with large-scale high availability environments (50+ servers) housing multiple large to very large databases (VLDBs).
Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Ability to work in a team fostered environment.
Ability to work in a multi-tasked environment.
Ability to prioritize and organize work.
Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule.
Ability to lift and/or move 20 pounds with or without accommodation.
