Roles and Responsibilities :
In general The individual will be involved with test program planning, estimating, project execution, leadership and management for test facility and/or test equipment design and build, test operation - primarily in supporting EMC and EMI testing, actuators, electric motors and motor controller testing. Individual shall have proven experience with test system electrical design, EMI test requirements and specifications. Mechanical test experience involving hydraulic, pneumatic, environmental testing involving flow and process control a plus. Performs and coordinates test design, development and/or analysis functions on advanced and complex engineering test projects. Leads and executes test programs.
Interacts with other engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for products, systems, components, or modifications. Designs and/or develops test systems for new products and unique equipment to meet specific requirements of customer orders; develops solutions to technical problems. Develops and assesses equipment, or acceptance equipment and processing methods required to test complex components and assemblies. Creates and/or participates in establishing operating procedures on new test systems and components. Generates, compiles cost estimates and delivery quotations, monitors performance, and prepares reports, statistics, and recommendations for management review. Plans and performs engineering test programs and uses project management tools. Interacts with design agencies, commercial test houses, and suppliers to assist in resolving test design, test development, and acceptance issues. Prepares evaluation reports, analyzes discrepancies, makes recommendations for and initiates the most cost effective improvements for test equipment, procedures, or operating processes that improve productivity and quality and reduce process time. Provides project leadership and technical guidance on complex engineering projects. Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established HSE&F requirements to ensure the protection of associates, the public, and the environment. Takes actions necessary to "stop" work when an unsafe condition or action is identified.
Basic Qualifications Degreed Electrical Engineer or Mechanical Engineer with extensive EMC and EMI test experience related to new product and systems research, development and qualification testing. Candidate must be a U.S. Person: Citizen or Permanent Resident Alien, due to program requirements. Candidate must have 5 or more years of relevant experience working with mechanical and test facility systems required to test and develop pneumatic, hydraulic, refrigeration, heat exchangers, high-speed turbo-machinery components and systems for commercial, military and aerospace applications or equivalent. Demonstrated work experience in program/project engineering and management.

Additional Qualifications Candidate must have experience taking test specifications and requirements and designing a reliable test system, including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and data acquisition equipment required for the total test system and test solutions in developing, testing and qualifying new products and systems. Candidate must have experience of electrical testing. Requires hands on ability to use standard lab equipment such as digital storage oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers. Also voltage and current transducers and compute and apply transducer factors. Candidate must have ability to guide technicians in performing tests to obtain desired test criteria when only generic test instructions exist. Candidate must have ability to review and analyze test data to verify conformity to the required standard. Candidate must have ability to manipulate and format data using spreadsheets or macros to present data in the required format. Candidate must have the ability to work under minimal supervision, great bias for action, with latitude for independent action and decision making. Working familiarity with Product Development cycle and working experience with testing electrical motors, actuators a plus.
