The Nondestructive Test Engineer will design custom nondestructive testing techniques to inspect plant components. Specific responsibilities will include the design, development, and qualification testing of methods, developing data acquisition, analysis and reporting guidelines. Provide technical direction and engineering assistance to inspection personnel and performing analysis of inspection data. Frequent interfacing and teaming with Prime Contractor personnel, Naval Reactors, Shipyards, and equipment vendors on the development and deployment of inspection techniques is required.

Required Skills
Senior:
BS degree in Engineering or Physics from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of six years of relevant and/or practical experience.
Current or prior ASNT Level II Certification in NDT.

Principal:
BS degree in Engineering or Physics from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of nine years of relevant and/or practical experience.
Current or prior ASNT Level II Certification in NDT.

Preferred Skills
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • BS degree in Materials Engineer, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university, is preferred.
  • MS degree or higher from an accredited college or university, is preferred.
  • Current or prior ASNT Level III Certification in NDT.
  • Experience in the application of Phased Array Ultrasonic Inspection techniques.
  • Prior experience with code interpretation (such as the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code or NAVSEA standards) and application.
  • Experience with the development and application of automated Ultrasonic Inspection techniques.
  • Familiarity and prior experience with Radiography, Eddy Current, and Leak testing.
