Physical Therapist

Summary of Job Duties:
Responsible for organizing and conducting medically prescribed physical therapy treatment to individuals with developmental, physical, cognitive and/or emotional impairments, disabilities and/or handicaps to assist in reaching optimal function within their physical limitations. Adheres to policies, procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.

1) Performs physical therapy assessment procedures utilizing techniques consistent with the patient’s diagnosis. Develops individualized treatment plan based on evaluation findings.

2)Provides detailed and concise documentation of evaluation, treatment, interim reports, and discharge evaluations within departmental timelines. Provides all necessary documentation required for on-going patient care.

3)Participates in mentoring and training of clinical support staff, new professional staff, and students/volunteers in the aspects of patient care.

4)Participates in the development and implementation of departmental performance improvement

5) Participates in the development and implementation of clinical program development.

6)Responsible for completing basic physical therapy competencies in addition to departmental specific competencies.

7)Meets productivity expectations for level of care and FTE status.

8)Utilizes support staff and resources as per general guidance of departmental guidelines.

9)Takes ownership of assignments; other duties as assigned or requested.

10)Communicates and listens effectively with internal and external customers; effectively understands instructions and shares knowledge.

11)Cooperates and interacts with supervisors, peers, other departments and all customer groups demonstrating our commitment to “serviceâ€.

Education Minimum: Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution

Desired: Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy

Technical/Formal Training Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively and finish tasks in a timely manner; Ability to follow oral and written instruction and established procedures.

Experience Minimum: No directly related experience Desired: One (1) year related experience
