About the Job:
The main focus of this position is to ensure that direct
channels, both catalog and web, reflect and deliver the
annual marketing strategy and quarterly marketing and
merchandising framework in a manner that engages the
target market, while driving productivity and the most
profitable end result. Responsible for developing and
executing social media initiatives with content that
creates engagement, increases brand awareness and drives
traffic to our channels. Ensure that the creative
treatment of catalog, web and social media campaigns and
initiatives accurately, effectively, and appropriately,
reflect our marketing/merchandising frameworks, sales
promotion calendar, and multi-channel business

  • Accountable for developing and executing catalog, web
and social media initiatives that support the
overarching marketing and promotional framework
  • Accountable for developing creative strategies that
provide insights into J. Jill’s target audience creating
a connection between her mindset and J. Jill’s key
product stories
Catalog Specific
  • Responsible for establishing and communicating
strategic priorities to the creative team in advance of
creative catalog development, and maintain strategic
priorities to final production ensuring the messages are
obvious and relevant to the target consumer
Web & Email Specific
  • Responsible for developing monthly web and email
calendars outlining key product and promotional
  • Responsible for developing contact strategy with
E-commerce identifying email content & hierarchy of
messaging (including segmentation, email exclusive
  • Accountable for developing email and web creative
briefs ensuring key brand messages are relevant and
clearly communicated
  • Responsible for ensuring the content is accurate, on
strategy and on brand
  • Responsible for leveraging results to direct future
strategies and initiatives
Social Media Specific
  • Responsible for developing and executing a clearly
defined social media strategy
  • Collaborate with marketing partners to develop
strategies that reinforce our overarching marketing
strategy and initiatives
  • Plan, manage and implement all social media
initiatives, ensuring activities create engagement,
increase brand awareness and drive traffic to our
channels – web and in store
  • Analyze existing social media activities to influence
future strategies

  • Strong analytic skills.
  • Social media and online marketing experience a must.
  • Solid marketing foundation and creative
development/process experience.
  • Word, Excel, and strong PowerPoint skills a must.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, MBA preferred
  • 5-7 years related experience; Creative Marketing
influence within an e- commerce and catalog experience a
  • Prefer fashion retail and/or soft goods direct
marketing experience
  • Solid marketing foundation and creative
development/process experience
