Responsible for the overall facility oversight during the 3rd shift including production, warehouse, maintenance, quality and other support function required to work during the shift. This includes ensuring that salaried supervisors and the hourly workforce ensure quality products at high productivity and within cost standards. All is done while fostering an open channel of communication, atmosphere and teamwork between departments and shifts.
Provides direction to salaried supervisors to ensure quality products and adherence to productivity goals and cost standards
Drive and support Nestle Continuous Excellence efforts. Facilitate Go-See-Thing-Dos and root cause analysis for daily/top 3 issues. Cascade vision, goals and priorities (effective communication to entire team)
Development of Production and Sanitation Supervisors and Manufacturing Coordinator to include hiring, training and performance management fostering an environment that promotes positive employee relations and safety accountability
Execute sanitation for factory through direct supervision of Sanitation Supervisors
Execute projects/Operational Master Plan responsibilities assigned by the Operations and Plant Manager
Work with Human Resources, salaried and hourly employees to maintain a positive work environment
Lead improvement projects derived from shift performance
Complete all other projects as assigned by the Operations Manager
Has immediate responsibility for the Safety & Environmental activities performed by supervisors and employees
Assures that Safety activities are communicated & accomplished as outlined in the plant’s safety program.
Assures that activities performed having an environmental impact are communicated a nd accomplished as outlined in the plant’s environmental program.
Assures that the supervisor involved properly investigates all injuries, incidents and accidents as they relate to safety or the environment.
Consult with the plant Safety/Environmental Management Representative as necessary to fulfill program requirements.
Review all accident and incident investigations with the objective of taking action to eliminate future occurrences.
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
College degree in Food Technology, Engineering, Business, or Sciences.
- At least 5 years in food manufacturing with production floor experience
- Prior experience managing in a union environment preferred
- Experience with SAP a plus.
- Excellent communication and coaching skills.
- Strong computer skills & experience with Microsoft Office.
- High energy level and excellent follow up skills.
- Creative problem solving, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Excellent people skills, maintain a positive attitude and the ability to motivate people is needed.
