Research and Development Chemist

As a Research Chemist, your innovations will impact our future. You will be focusing primarily on developing new products, supporting customer technical service with in-depth analysis, failure analysis and analytical method development initiatives related to our businesses.
Understand and comply with all applicable internal corporate and external health, safety and environmental policies; act consistently with corporate standards of integrity.
•Demonstrate formulation, new product application development and assessment of industry technology used in a variety of finished fluids.
•Ensure physical stability, efficacy, processability, and cost effectiveness.
•Deliver programs in accordance with agreed upon timetables.
•Provide technical support to sales and marketing functions through product development efforts and customer-directed research programs.
•Anticipate, determine, and understand customers’ unmet needs and market trends and apply product technologies to satisfy those requirements.
•Manage concurrent multiple development projects.
•Participate in multi-functional project teams. Interface and solicit support from multiple groups (Sales and Marketing, Production, Quality Control, etc.)
•Maintain awareness of competitive products and applications, technical developments in relative fields of science, and market trends.
•Provide telephone support to customers.
•Initiate and organize laboratory work to meet multiple assignment objectives.
•Participate in industry conferences and symposiums as required by the management team.
REQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
•Minimum BS in chemistry
•Excellent decision making, problem solving skills, and the ability to interpret and translate experimental results into customer needs
•Self–starter, highly motivated towards achievements, results oriented
•Ability to generate new and creative approaches to new product development and problem solving; demonstrate flexibility in thinking
•Ability to manage projects effectively from start to finish including appropriate follow-up and attention to detail
•Ability to set objectives and identify resources/processes to accomplish goals
•Ability to anticipate, identify, and effectively assess issues/situations, gather data and background information, analyze information and determine steps for solution
•Ability to maintain an accurate clear legal record of experimental results and provide written summaries and initial interpretation of results
•Strong organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
•Ability to effectively interface with management, customers and support groups

•Excellent organization and planning skills
