Sentara's Corporate facilities are currently recruiting for a full time, day shift Secretary position.

Job Summary: Performs diversified office administrative and clerical support functions for the Manager and department, maintains appointment calendars, prepares department reports, performs financial processes, answers phone calls, takes messages, routes information, reads, sorts, and distributes mail. May be required to prepare meeting minutes, presentation materials, and correspondence. Greets and directs visitors. Functions in a multi-disciplinary environment requiring application of excellent customer service skills, maintenance of files, records, and ordering of office supplies .

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Requires up to 1 year of college and/or specialized post high school training in office administration.
Experience: 1-3 years experience in the secretarial field. Experience in a real estate or property management firm is plus. E xperience with accounting and account reconciliation preferred.
Other: Typing and or transcription of 50 wpm. Knowledge in the proper usage of grammar, spelling, punctuation and letter composition. Demonstrates proficiency in designated computer software applications as required by department. Highly skilled in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat. Mathematical ability required to complete financial information. Able to use office equipment, computers, fax printer, pagers, copiers and calculator.
