Monitoring of all Linux Servers with a focus on systems security to identify and implement appropriate security controls in accordance with corporate standards, compliance regulations and guidance from Nuance Security Organisation (NSO) including:
Patch management
PEN & vulnerability testing
User management and access control
System segregation
Log management
Security event management and reporting
Work closely with NSO for policy, regulatory and contractual compliance
Identify areas for continuous improvement and efficiencies in relation to system security especially in access control
Review and approve (where applicable) all proposed changes to architectures or proposed services in order to maintain or improve the security of the infrastructure
Assist in the evaluation of overall risk for IT systems and the data they contain and process, accounting for the people, processes, and technologies that provide security controls
Maintain knowledge in the field of Information Security and the related issues, systems, processes, products, and services Qualifications:

3+ years Linux System administration and engineering experience with a strong emphasis on security
Strong background in Linux OS including SLES 10 SP2, Fedora, RedHat Enterprise, CentOS, Oracle Linux
Working knowledge of web hosting configuration components, including firewalls, load balancers, web and database servers
Well versed in Apache web server, PHP, MySQL, HTML, VMWare
Advanced knowledge of Exim
Advanced knowledge of LDAP
Understanding of Zenoss
Previous experience of Tripwire Enterprise and Log Management suites – configuration and reporting
Ability to work well with a team in a fast paced, constantly changing environment and follow instructions from supervisors and senior colleagues.
In-depth knowledge of IT technologies such as: Routing & Switching in LAN/WAN architectures, (including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSL) TCP/IP, SNMP, CGI, HTML, DLP, IPS/IDS, SIEM, VPN, PKI, FIM, SaaS, Microsoft Technologies (Active Directory, IIS, ISA, DNS, SQL), Oracle, Solaris, Linux, and other security related toolsets.
Strong understanding of virtualization in environments such as VMWare
Knowledge Scripting and automation using bash, Perl, Python and other common Linux utilities
Strong knowledge of both old and new security vulnerabilities and up to date on the latest best practices and technologies.
Strong knowledge of cryptography as it relates to computer and network security as well as file encryption.
Working knowledge of COBIT, SOX, HIPAA, ISO 27000, 201 CMR 17, and PCI desirable.
Excellent fundamental problem solving and analytical skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
