Patient Care Director
Medical/Surgical Unit

Manage all aspects of patient care delivery and unit operations within the Medical/Surgical Unit at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center.

Be the catalyst for safety, quality and evidence-based innovation for an intergenerational team, including veteran RNs as well as recent graduates. You’ll collaborate closely with the unit’s assigned hospitalist, in a culture of strong collegial respect. And you’ll foster independent thinking defined by the hospital-wide mission Putting Patients First.

The Patient Care Director assumes front line responsibility for fiscal performance, resource allocation, scheduling, staff evaluation and patient care delivery on a 24-hour basis. That means leading your team in caring for a variety of patient populations, ranging from adult inpatients requiring pre- and post-operative care to general acute care, photopheresis, peritoneal dialysis and other specialty services.

Your team will care for geriatrics, digestive diseases, rehabilitation, vascular, neurology and oncology patients, many from around the world.

Qualified candidates must have a Master’s degree in Nursing or related field and NYS licensure, supported by progressive management experience.
