The AV-8B Program needs a Grade 3 Engineer to help lead and define an optimized Air Vehicle sustainment plan for the Harrier Platform. The US Marine Corps customer has extended the out-of-service date to 2030+, which requires our customer to implement improvements for operational relevance, sustainability, and safety. The successful candidate will have an excellent opportunity to grow while developing and implementing these improvements.
The responsibilities for this Air Vehicle Engineer include, but, are not limited to the following RAA:
- Support the AV8 Post Production Support (PPS) engineering activities.
- Develop engineering task statements of work with close coordination with the PMA-257 Class Desk and AV8 Fleet Support Team (FST).
- Assure complete, timely and responsive estimates and proposal support from the Airframe and Technology IPTs.
- Technical integration of all airframe efforts for current and potential future upgrade activities.
- Support timely resolution of technical issues with transactional and HISS PBL related spares.
- Supports task definition and execution in support of PMA-257, AV-FST, and Joint Systems Support Activity (JSSA).
This position requires someone who is well-grounded technically and understands the current and future roadmap for the AV-8B, the Global Strike and GS&S engineering organizations, and work closely with the AV-8B PMA, Joint Program Office, and Fleet Support Team customer organizations. The successful candidate will have previously demonstrated the capability to work well with ambiguity, will have successfully worked with teammates on other teams via positive motivation, will have demonstrated the ability to gain the trust, confidence and respect of the customer community, and will possess the ability to implement innovative decision/problem solving techniques. The successful candidate will gain experience with Earned Value Management (EVM). Periodic short duration travel will be required in this assignment.

Capable of working effectively with supplier technical team in assessing product/system issues or designs.

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
