Scope/ Dimensions of Role:
This role is responsible for developing and implementing the strategy of how Reckitt Benckiser reaches consumers across paid, earned and owned media touchpoints. A strong focus on maximizing the impact, effectiveness and efficiency of the US multi-media investment and the ability to champion and co-ordinate development of proven and new /innovative media channels is critical for success in this role. Creating joint value and business partnerships with local and global stakeholders as well RB’s external supplier base including agency and media partners is vital. Strong communication and influencing skills will be critical for success in RB’s global environment
LEADS ALL MEDIA RELATED QUERIES, NEEDS, DELIVERABLES FROM MANAGEMENT
6-8 Direct Reports
Oversees macro (Corporate roll-up) RB communication planning, processes, evolution, evaluation
Accountable for total Media Budget and Savings management
Oversee agency partner SOW and Compensation structure
Initial / main point of contact for:
Media planning and buying agency
Digital agency partners
Decision maker for priority and resource focus on ‘alternative/new media’ opportunities including but not limited to:
Partnership Development with Multi-Media Corps - for scale, pricing, innovation.
EX: Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart, etc..
New Media Technology & Strategies
EX: TiVo, Crowd Sourcing, etc
New Technology on 'old' media
EX: MSN TV test, Nielsen Spectra MR data overlays for better targeting
EX: Traditional and Digital
Develop digital and social media corporate best practices including, but not limited to activation, agency scope, benchmarking, reporting, etc…
Establish, develop and report on key media metrics by which programs are evaluated, developing best practices to be shared globally.
Lead content development and distribution strategy
Lead for Media / Market Research relationship
development of high level test plots with RB MR and Syndicated providers
RB Global Media Liaison
Main Liaison for RB with Advertising governing bodies (ANA, IAB, etc) to keep RB at the forefront of media and media technology developments, as well as position RB as a contributor and leader to the governing bodies of media & advertising in the US.
Responsible for conception/development of deeper Media Trainings & Summits for RB'ers. To be coordinated with leading Suppliers (Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Nielsen, IRI, Brand Approved) on key and evolving topics (Social, Mobile, New Digital, etc).
Formal dissemination of Media Learning, Test Results, Research, etc to RB'ers.
Minimum 10 years media experience, with a proven track record of successful major negotiations with leading media providers (TV, Print,Digital, Social & etailing)
Strong business leadership with proven examples of ability to spearhead strategic media planning initiatives
Strong negotiation skills and extensive experience working with media / advertising agencies
Ability to work in a global environment
Minimum bachelors degree level in a business or communications related subject
