Aircraft Systems Engineer will investigate operational, maintenance, reliability problems and develop engineering solutions. Interface with other departments to establish action plans and effect change. Author Engineering Orders, drawings, or other documents to specify changes to aircraft, components, or processes. Evaluate regulatory mandates such as Airworthiness Directives (AD) or rule changes to determine impact on UPS, and develop and implement compliance plan. Evaluate manufacturer's service bulletins and other information for improvements to safety, performance, or reliability of the aircraft or components. Support Aircraft Maintenance on complex technical problems, troubleshooting, or unusual repairs, to rapidly return aircraft to service. Analyze repairs and modifications and develop substantiating data to ensure that the repaired or modified part maintains certified configuration and complies with applicable regulations. Provide project oversight and management to ensure project is on plan and within budget.
Ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering
- Minimum of five (5) years airline experience
- Aircraft cargo fire suppression knowledge and experience
