Strategic Team Objectives

The SavvisDirect program is an endeavor to build the next generation of cloud services geared toward a simple, transactional and frictionless consumption experience. The SavvisDirect SaaS Product Management team will lead product strategy and life-cycle management for the SaaS portfolio of services. The Senior Product Manager will lead cross-functional teams through ideation, strategic planning, business case development, product requirements, pricing strategies, and overall lifecycle management support. The Senior Product Manager ensures SaaS offerings stay current with customer needs, technology advancements, and competitive differentiation. The Senior Product Manager will work closely with development teams from product initiation to delivery and eventual product retirement. The Senior Product Manager will work with marketing teams to formulate Go To Market product programs to drive sales, develop service descriptions, whitepapers, customer training content and pricing schedules.

This position will report to the Director SaaS Product Management.

Job Description

This individual will lead and drive with a passion the SavvisDirect SaaS applications needed by customers to achieve strategic growth objectives. This position works closely with thought leaders and technical management in Savvis to execute product development and management priorities that align with overall SavvisDirect cloud solutions strategy.

Position Objectives:
Overall product line management responsibility for the SaaS Application Services portfolio

Drive ISV engagements from discovery phase through to contract execution and deployment

End-to-end ISV life-cycle management of vendor contracts, release roadmaps and GTM strategies

Manage the success of assigned products and develop requirements for future product releases

Ensure products are financially viable and understand the financial impact of product changes

Develop product positioning strategies and align with superior SaaS service experience

Support prioritization of requirements across product line(s) that exhibit close cohesions with customer experience

Provide strategic leadership and tactical delivery on projects while collaborating with IT, engineering, sales, support, operations, and customers

Ability to manage multiple products simultaneously

Able to matrix manage teams/personnel who do not Directly report to product team

Contributes to or leads cross-functional SavvisDirect initiatives as needed

Research competitors’ products, assesses competitive advantages and determine what product features and functionality will be built or modified

Leads product planning and feature design to ensure the product is meaningful for target market

oProvide input to business development team on strategic service supplier negotiation, terms, and product enhancement requirements

oUnderstand and ensure goals are met within the product organization

oIndependently resolve issues and assist team with overcoming obstacles

Essential duties:
Senior product manager accountable for lifecycle management of SaaS portfolio

Serve as single point of contact for the product offering and interface with all stakeholder support organizations related to pricing, development, operations, and marketing

Have a high level of energy as well as strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Demonstrate the ability to gain trust, negotiate business objectives, and work Directly with a broad group of senior executives

Demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit and interest in creating new business models and uncovering untapped market potential

Provide thought partnership and analytical understanding to important business decisions involving SaaS solutions

Understand and stay current with the competitive and industry landscape

Demonstrate a strong understanding of business drivers and needs relating to SavvisDirect SaaS product offerings

Demonstrate the ability to manage and quickly gain respect among subject matter experts within the company.

Possess complex project and program management skills

Responsible for meeting the specified monthly, quarterly and yearly targets

Responsible for updating management on progress and elevate any issues that need assistance with resolution

Required skills:
BS/BA or equivalent required; MS/MBA a plus

8+ years of related product management and development experience

5+ years of experience relating to Cloud Computing, SaaS, Online App Marketplaces, & Networking

Up to 50% of travel.

Proven track record of consistently achieving product management success

Excellent communication skills to include: verbal, written and presentation

Exceptional organizational skills for the coordination of deal activities and execution of business plans
