The Skype Technical Strategy and Engineering Partnerships team is building a partner ecosystem to enable exciting new Unified Communications scenarios that complement Microsoft’s offerings in this space - Lync and Skype. As part of a focused team inside the Skype division, you will advance the partner program by ensuring complementary partner products and services are available in the broader marketplace. Working closely with other key teams in Microsoft, you will manage Skype partner engagements by formulating a strategy how to achieve the group’s goals in an area of engagement, identifying and recruiting partners, developing technical requirements and specifications and implementing and evolving partnerships per group’s product roadmap. You will act as a liaison between partners and Microsoft. You will create and drive a range of partner initiatives from technical inception to go-to-market conclusion. You will demonstrate comprehensive understanding of partner business models, technology assets, and comparative advantage. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of partner and executive relationships with limited management involvement. You will develop partner plans that document, and lead the partner and Microsoft to implement joint long-range strategies. You will be expected to make significant, innovative contribution to product requirements based on your detailed analysis of partner opportunities. Projects will include developing strategic plans, communicating opportunity maps for partners, and working with both partners and team members to realize partner product plans that are complementary to the UC business and beneficial for partners.

In depth domain knowledge in one or more of the following areas are required: network service provider architectures/offerings, enterprise software, Software as a service, IP Telephony, web conferencing and enterprise messaging solutions. Qualifications include superb technical skills, demonstrated success in partner and customer engagements, ability to engage collaboratively with a cross-functional team, and substantial business and analytical aptitude. Strong communication skills are necessary for presenting to internal and external executives. Applicant needs to have a flexible can-do attitude and be self-sufficient. Your ability to create strong working relationships and to get the job done with other marketing, sales, business development, technical, and legal groups across Microsoft is a must.
•Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical background as well as significant business experience
•10+ years relevant experience in large, complex customer or partner environments.
•5+ years of experience in the Unified Communication areas (knowledge of SIP protocol is a big plus)
•Strong communication skills.
•Previous experience in the Telecom/operator industry is a big plus.
